Three Gill formulations are available:

The Gill I formula is generally recommended for cytology.
The stronger Gill III is usually preferred for use in histology.
GIll II is a medium strength hematoxylin.

The Gill formula hematoxylins are used in the progressive method of staining.

The Gill formulations do not contain mercury.

Available in various quantities.
