Antigen Background

Carcinoembryonic Antigen（CEA）は、胎児の結腸で産生される糖タンパクです。成人結腸の正常粘膜上皮を含めたさまざまな正常組織においても低レベルの発現が認められます。CEAは、19番染色体に位置するCEA遺伝子によってコードされています。この遺伝子は、免疫グロブリンスーパーファミリーのサブファミリーであるCEA遺伝子ファミリーの一つです。現在、CEAには細胞接着特性があることがよく知られており、他の接着分子と協同して、細胞間相互作用に影響するといわれています。
