Hintergrund des Antigens

Das CD5-Antigen ist auf 95 % aller Thymozyten und 72 % der Lymphozyten im peripheren Blut nachweisbar. In den Lymphknoten wird die Hauptreaktivität auf T-Zellen beobachtet.

Das CD5-Antigen wird auch bei zahlreichen T-Zell-Leukämien und Lymphomen, von aktivierten T-Zellen und einer Untergruppe der B-Zellen exprimiert, die primär in den Mantelzonen normaler Lymphknoten vorhanden sind.

Eine CD5-Antigenexpression wird außerdem bei der akuten lymphatischen Leukämie vom T-Zell-Typ (T-ALL), bei bestimmten chronischen lymphatischen Leukämien vom B-Zell-Typ (B-CLL) sowie bei B- und T-Zell-Lymphomen beobachtet.
